Featuring extended scenes from "Armide" by Glück and "The Elixir of Love" by Donizetti, performed in the original French and Italian, respectively, with projected English supertitles, and piano accompaniment. Costumes from Fullerton Civic Light Opera, choreography by Lisa Anderson of the Fullerton College Dance Department. Two tales of enchantment - one serious, one comical - ask the question "is love real, or the product of magic that bewitches us?" Is Renaud really in love with the sorceress Armide, or is it her magic spell that keeps him bound to her? Is Adina really under the influence of the allegedly magical elixir of love, or is her affection towards Nemorino genuine and sincere? Come and find out!
