Organized by the NOCCCD office of Diversity and Compliance Opening Reception: Thursday, September 19, 6-8pm CC Dance Department and Maha & Company present Piedras y Luz: Thursday, September 19, 6.30pm Screening: Border South/Frontera Sur followed by Q & A with director Raúl Paz Pastrana: Thursday, September 19, 4.30-5.40pm Organized by the NOCCCD office of Diversity and Compliance Located in the Cypress College Theater Documentary Border South/Frontera Sur, directed by Raúl Paz Pastrana, melds ethnography and cinema verité to explore the harsh environment and brutal journey of undocumented immigrants from Central America crossing through Mexico towards the United States. A Mexican immigrant filmmaker, cinematographer, and multimedia creator, Pastrana’s work intersects contemporaryart, political documentary, and visual ethnography to explore themes of “belonging” and “alienation” in immigrant communities. Border South /Frontera Sur is Pastrana's first feature film.September 19, 2019 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
