DESCRIPTION:Join us virtually for the 3rd Annual Monarch Conference (formerly the Undocumented Student Conference)\, we aim to honor the resilience\, visibility\, and solidarity that continue to define our community. Join us as we uplift undocumented\, mixed-status\, and immigration-impacted students\, celebrate collective strength\, and continue moving forward together. \n\n\n\n9:00 am – 9:45 am\nWelcome Session\nThis session will be an introduction to our conference featuring a labor and land acknowledgement\, a message from the NOCCCD Chancellor\, a message from our Fullerton College Vice President of Student Services\, and a brief presentation of undocumented student support resources. \n \n\n\n9:45 am – 11:15 am\nLessons from the Dream Movement\nLessons from the Dream Movement is an engaging workshop that invites students to explore the powerful history of the Dream Movement and the young women and queer activists who helped shape it. Through storytelling\, reflection\, and shared experiences\, participants will learn how this legacy connects to their own educational journey\, sense of purpose\, and future leadership. This session encourages students to see themselves as part of a larger story—one rooted in resilience\, advocacy\, and community—and empowers them to carry that spirit forward as they pursue their goals. \n \n\n\n11:15 am – 11:30 am\nBreak\n\n\n11:30 am – 12:30 pm\nKnow Your Rights Workshop\nJoin us for an informative Know Your Rights workshop led by the South Asian Network\, designed to empower immigrant community members with clear\, practical information about their legal rights. This 45-minute presentation plus 15-minute Q &A will cover what to do during interactions with immigration officials\, tips on developing a family plan\, safe protesting practices\, and legal updates that our impacting our communities. Participants will gain tools to stay safe\, informed\, and connected\, with time for questions in a culturally affirming and confidential space. \n \n\n\n12:30 pm – 12:45 pm\nBreak\n\n\n12:45 pm – 2:15 pm\nLight the Dream\, Career Making 101\nLight the Dream: Business Making 101 is an engaging session for students\, clubs\, high school youth\, and career‑focused programs. The workshop connects education to income‑generating futures\, helping increase degree completion by showing students how their studies can lead to real economic opportunity. It also expands career pathways for those who face barriers to traditional employment. Participants learn to reframe entrepreneurship as a tool for care\, culture\, and self‑sufficiency; explore work models that reflect undocumented and mixed‑status realities; and build the confidence needed to pursue business ownership as a post‑graduation goal. The session encourages students to see business not just as a career option\, but as a vehicle for purpose and community impact. \n \n\n\n2:15 pm – 2:30 pm\nClosing\nThis session will feature closing remarks.\n\n\n\n  \nRSVP Here
