Announcing the 3rd Annual Fullerton College Ethnic Studies Summit taking place on Friday October 13 and Saturday October 14, 2017. The summit is a free, public two-day conference and celebration held annually in the fall semester. Consisting of renowned speakers, interactive workshops, dialogue circles, research presentations, multi-genre performances, a resources fair and artisan marketplace, a hip hop show and a drag show, the summit will bring together students of all ages with scholar-activists, educators, organizers, artists, and the local community to explore the theme “Liberation, Autonomy, and Self-Determination.” The intentions of the summit are to share and generate knowledges and inspire action by theorizing, strategizing, skill-sharing, and discussing practices for responding to and ending all systems of oppression, to engage in communal healing, and to create a more just society.
