Join the Cadena/Transfer Center and the International Student Center as we tour the LA County Museum of Art or LACMA. Participants will enjoy a docent tour of the current Cheech Marin collection,notable for classic examples of Chicano art produced from the inception of the Chicano movement to the present, with a concentration in painting from the 1980s and 90s. This exhibition includes a number of widely exhibited works by such first-generation Chicano artists as Carlos Almaraz, Margaret Garcia, Gilbert “Magu” Luján, Frank Romero, John Valadez, and Patssi Valdez, whose artistic careers began during the Chicano civil rights movement in the mid-1960s to mid-1970s, as well as works by such younger artists as Vincent Valdez and David Flury.

for Equality (G.L.I.D.E)

The purpose of National Coming Out Week is to advocate & promote tolerance, acceptance, and Diversity of the LGBT community. In recognition of National Coming Out Week, the Campus Equity & Diversity Committee and Cadena/Transfer Center welcome GLIDE, An Interactive Presentation.

The mission of GLIDE is to eliminate homophobia by providing the general public with factual information and diverse personal experiences about homosexuality. They accomplish this through live, interactive presentations tailored to specific audiences. They target educational, business, civic, social, political and religious groups in every ethnic and cultural population.

MONDAY-Coming Out Stories

WEDNESDAY-Project: Coming OUT!!(In the Quad from 10am to 1pm)- A campus event encompassing various activites regarding coming out ranging from a photo op of "coming out" of a closet, various displays of LGBT history makers and supporters, The Spectrum Wall-displaying the variations and diverstities in our culture, and much more!!

THURSDAY-Come out Tonight-details to come soon!

FRIDAY- Film OUTfest!! A movie festival from 5pm to 9pm!! More details coming soon!!

The movie allows its viewers to empathize with he social issues immigrants deal with on a daily basis; family separation, discrimination, employer abuse and most importantly, how they persevere through faith, love and hope. California State University, Fullerton: Women Center’s Susan Leavy is the Campus Crime Prevention Educator and will be sharing her expertise in sexual violence, domestic violence and young adult issues. Relationship violence can and does occur in any type of intimate relationship – dating, marriage, co-habitation, or roommate arrangements. It occurs between couples who are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender. Susan will discuss how Relationship Violence is a pattern of behavior in which one partner uses fear and intimidation to establish power and control over the other partner.

Holocaust Survivor:
Leon Leyson
Leon Leyson

In the Campus Theatre

 Leon Leyson retired teacher Leon Leyson is a Holocaust survivor and the youngest member of Schindler's List. Leon will be coming to the Fullerton College campus to share his life story with our students and community. He worked in Oscar Schindler's factory, the subject of Steven Spielberg's film Schindler's List.
